The long-standing boss of beauty brand Babor has resigned from the business after 14 years in the role.
Michael Schummert joined the professional skin care brand as CEO in 2007, and will leave his post at the beginning of 2022, but will stay on as President of Babor’s Premium Private Label and support the business as an independent entrepreneur.
The division is charged with developing skin care for dermatologists and celebrities and in the role, he will focus on new business and development for existing customers.
The announcement comes ahead of a management shakeup expected to take place upon Schummert’s exit.
Babor said the leadership reshuffle will reflect the beauty company’s development in the market as it implements a flexible infrastructure to accelerate international expansion.
Co-owner Isabel Bonacker said the company is pleased about the decision and the long-term projections for the family-owned business.
“We see great potential in the premium private label business and are pleased that Michael Schummert will become a driving force in this area,” she added.
“We would like to thank him for his many years of excellent work at the Babor Beauty Group and are looking forward to continued success in this new set up.”
Schummert said that he was “proud” to hand over the reins to his successor with Babor in a strong market position and that he was looking forward to a new “entrepreneurial chapter”.
