MSL Solution Providers have been granted the latest ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation for all its preservative efficacy testing

Leading cosmetic testing and regulatory house, MSL Solution Providers, is delighted to announce that it has been granted the latest ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation for all its preservative efficacy testing.

The certification includes MSL’s pioneering VeganSure® solution, which was the first vegan test suite to market and is now one of the first to be accredited by UKAS.

Registered with The Vegan Society’s Vegan Trademark, VeganSure replaces all animal-derived ingredients with plant-based or synthetic alternatives, such as papaya-derived enzymes, soya bean, and plant peptones, to assure the safety of a cosmetic product in line with its brand’s ethical stance.

This enables companies to take a 360° approach to veganism, ensuring their formulations are animal-free from development through to microbiological testing.

The accreditation was awarded in February 2022 following an assessment from UKAS, which ensures that both the company’s in-house laboratory and all mandatory testing it performs comply with the updated ISO/IEC 17025 standard.

Carolyn Burney, MD at MSL Solution Providers, comments ‘We’re thrilled to have achieved accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025:2017, which demonstrates our commitment to offering the highest quality testing service possible.

Thank you to all our staff for their hard work in implementing the requirements and enabling a seamless transition.’

ISO/IEC 17025:2017 specifies the general requirements for the competence of testing laboratories. The revised standard now incorporates the mandatory tests themselves, as well as the laboratories in which they are performed; previously (ISO 17025:2005), only the latter was accredited.
