Pharrell Williams’ wellbeing brand Humanrace has made its UK debut into luxury department store chain Selfridges.
The American rapper and entrepreneur’s skin care collection is shoppable at Selfridges’ Beauty Workshop and the Men’s Designer Street Room at its London store.
Selfridge’s building facade will shine green to celebrate the UK release, in reference to the colour used in Humanrace’s product packaging.
At the store's Duke St. entrance, visitors will also be able to experience a pop-up focusing on the brand’s ethos and story.
“We are humbled that Selfridges is bringing Humanrace in-store to the UK,” said Williams.
“It’s not often to experience a force like Selfridges that values creativity and customer experience while committing to a more sustainable future in the way Selfridges has done so seamlessly.”
Williams held an “intimate friendsgiving” dinner to celebrate the launch on 23 November 2022 at Bistrotheque restaurants in London.
Guests included rapper Skepta, British musician Central Cee, singer-songwriter Jorja Smith and make-up artist Isamaya Ffrench.
On Saturday 26 November, Williams will also host a panel event at the Selfridges Cinema to discuss the brand’s environmental vision for the future.
The talk will feature Elena Jones, Humanrace Chief Dermatologist, as well as brand co-founders Rachel Muscat and Edward Robinson.
“Pharrell has been leading the way for sustainable best practice in product development for more than a decade,” said Andrew Keith, Selfridges Managing Director.
“Through a unique launch partnership, Humanrace and Selfridges will come together to explore shared ideas around circularity, wellbeing and inclusivity, helping customers to live a brighter and more sustainable future.”
Williams originally launched his skin care line in November 2020.
The three-piece genderless set included a cleanser, exfoliant and moisturiser.
In July, Williams launched a new mineral sun care range, and used the launch as a platform to discuss misconceptions of sunscreen use for people of colour.
Dr Jones, who is also Pharrell’s Dermatologist, worked with the hip hop star to develop the range.
The Ozone Face Protection Daily Moisturizer and Ozone Body Protection Cream are SPF30 and have been formulated with non-nano zinc oxide and snow mushroom extract.
