Sephora will open its fourth UK store at Newcastle's Eldon Square shopping centre.
The beauty retailer has not confirmed an exact opening date, but said the new 6,600 sq ft store will launch later this year.
It comes after Eldon Square’s landlord signed a cooperation agreement with Newcastle City Council to accelerate a series of major new leasing deals.
“Working closely with Newcastle City Council, we will continue to bolster our already strong line-up of popular brands,” said Pete Cooper, Director at Eldon Square.
“This exciting announcement shows just how attractive Newcastle is for global retailers,” added Cllr Nick Kemp, Leader of Newcastle City Council.
“It is a vote of confidence in our city centre and a statement of intent by the retail industry.”
Sephora’s third UK store will open in Manchester this summer, after the beauty retailer confirmed the location in December 2023.
The 500sqm space will be the retailer’s first non-London store, housed at the Trafford Centre shopping destination.
Sephora said that Manchester was named as the most requested UK location by shoppers for its next store.
“Expanding our presence beyond London is something that consumers have been screaming out for, and we are listening hard to them when deciding where to go next,” said Sarah Boyd, Managing Director, Sephora UK, at the time.
“The Trafford Centre, known for its iconic atmosphere and diverse retail offering, is the perfect location for our third store.”
Sephora re-entered the UK beauty market in October 2022 after over six years of speculation and over 17 years after it exited the British market.
The LVMH-owned beauty retailer opened its first physical store at Westfields shopping centre in White City in March 2023.
A second store was then opened at Westfield Stratford City in November 2023.
