Superdrug is opening the doors to its biggest-ever UK store, located in London’s Westfield Stratford shopping centre.
The venue, which is welcoming shoppers from today (28 June), has doubled in size to cover 9,890sqft.
According to the AS Watson-owned chain, the extended store now boasts a new fragrance counter, as well as a Beauty Studio that has doubled in size.
Here, Superdrug customers will be able to access professional treatments, including eyebrow, lash nail and piercing services, without having to make an appointment.
In addition to Superdrug’s own-brand cosmetics ranges Studio London, B. Skin, Me+, Vitamin E, Optimum and Naturally Radiant, the store’s brand line-up will include the likes of Relove by Revolution, MUA, Morphe 2 and Avon.
“We are delighted to be opening an even bigger store at Westfield Stratford, making it the largest Superdrug store in the UK,” said Nigel Duxbury, Property Director at Superdrug.
“We are confident that local customers will be excited by the new store offering and enjoy our ranges of popular health and beauty brands, luxury fragrance counter and professional Beauty Studio.”
The upsized Westfield Stratford store is said to be in line with the beauty retailer’s bricks-and-mortar expansion strategy, which coincides with its 60th year on the British high street.
It plans to open 25 new stores throughout 2024.
Superdrug’s efforts contribute to an increasingly competitive physical retail environment for beauty in the UK.
This month, Lookfantastic, the THG Beauty owned retailer, announced it would be opening its first concept store in Altrincham, Cheshire in September.
Also in June, Boots announced it would grow its brand line-up by 25 new beauty brands by the end of the summer amid a continued overhaul of its stores.
Boots has already made over 170 of its stores and said it would further grow the footprint of another 30 of its beauty halls.
