Kering has promoted Laurent Claquin to the newly created role of Chief Brand Officer.
Claquin currently serves as President of Kering Americas, a position he has held for more than a decade.
He will join the luxury group’s executive committee on 1 July and report to Jean-Marc Duplaix, Deputy CEO of Kering in charge of Operations and Finance.
The job was created to increase Kering’s “visibility and influence”, with Claquin responsible for coordinating the business' external and internal brand communications.
“Laurent Claquin will support the houses by amplifying their communications efforts when appropriate, and by developing high-profile events that bolster their initiatives,” Kering said in a statement.
The Kering veteran joined the luxury fashion house in 2005 as Senior VP of Communications.
Claquin moved to Kering from his role as Deputy Chief of Staff for France’s Ministry of Culture, a government body overseeing national museums and historical monuments.
His promotion follows Kering’s appointment of L’Oréal veteran Alexandre Choueiri in April 2024 as the President and CEO of its beauty division in America.
Choueiri was President of the fragrance house Creed, which was acquired by Kering Beauté in June 2023.
The luxury giant’s beauty arm, which was created last year to ramp up its beauty offering, also acquired a minority stake in French perfume brand Matière Première.
This was the second strategic investment for the dedicated beauty division, which is headed up by beauty industry veteran Raffaella Cornaggia, formerly of L’Oréal and Estée Lauder.
