The beauty industry has seen a surge in keratosis pilaris skin-related launches in 2024.
Also known as chicken or KP skin, the benign condition is characterised by small, rough bumps on the skin that typically appear on the upper arms, thighs, cheeks and buttocks.
It is largely caused by a buildup of keratin, the hard protein that protects the skin from harmful substances and infection.
More than half of teenagers in the UK are affected by KP skin, according to the British Skin Foundation, with some 40% of adults also living with the condition in the country.
But what has driven beauty brands to ramp up their KP skin care offering this year?
